What is the REDUSE trial?

Septic shock is a severe type of sepsis, a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by the body's own response to an infection. Administration of fluids is an essential component of the care of patients with septic shock. However, the administration of overly large volumes of fluids can have detrimental effects. 

The REDUSE trial aims to learn whether restricting the administration of fluids improves outcomes compared to usual care in patients with septic shock.
